Running Wolves Editing was founded and is run by Alexa Nichols, a veteran editor of small publishing houses. She has a wealth of experience with developmental editing, line editing, and proofreading in several different genres. A hard-liner against AI in editing and writing, she has collaborated successfully with many authors, helping to turn their imaginings into reality.

Experience

Alexa has worked at several small publishing houses, including Folio Unbound, LLC, BHC Press, and GenZ Publishing. Alexa has been everything from a proofreader to an acting editor-in-chief in the editing business, which she became a part of in 2020. Her body of work has, to date, been mostly through these companies, and now she has decided to turn her hand to freelance editing. 

Personal

For as long as she can remember, Alexa has always loved to read. Fiction touches her heart the most, with its ability to take the reader and transport them to another time and place. She grew up riding horses, singing, and acting on stage. While pursuing a vocal performance degree for her undergrad, she was involved in a car accident that left her paralyzed from the neck down. Reading was and still is a great solace, and she decided she wanted to provide authors and readers with the chance to enjoy great books through editing them. An animal lover and avid D&D player, Alexa lives in the Texas Hill Country with her many critters and books.
